Tanjore tales

Visiting Tanjore a.k.a Tanjavur had been on my mind for a while now, and of course, i wasn't about to let such a chance pass. So Richie took us to the awesome spectacle that the Brihadeeswarar Temple is. He's sort of a history buff, so i kinda got the inside scoop on some of the architecture there. The temple is the world's first complete granite temple, and is now also a  UNESCO World Heritage site. The structure seen upfront in the image houses one of the largest Nandi's in India, and perhaps worldwide as well. A Nandi serves the role of a gate keeper of Shiva and Parvati in Hindu mythology. I came back with a couple of hundred photos that day. I'm definitely going back there again.
