Yesteryear trails

The church festival a.k.a Perunnal (Malayalam word) in Kerala has members of the church participating in a procession, that covers a good distance from some kind of landmark all the way to the church, and mostly via roads that run through neighborhoods of similar members. The folks would like light candles and a make-shift shrine of sorts, at their door step (or gate), as the procession passes their abode. One such procession passed by when we were around. The traditional candles have given way to newer boring self-containing adaptations, and trails left from the years that passed, remain.
